ONLY IN THE NAME OF YESHUA !!!!

IESOUS is the Greek form of the Hebrew Yehoshua, Yeshua which means
            ( YEHOVAH - SAVED )

I believe that to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son and the
Holy Spirit is wrong. I do not believe that Yeshua meant that we should
merely repeat the commission words that he spoke. We are to baptize in
the name, that name is Yeshua which means Salvation is of YeHoVaH.

Let's look at some New testament statements if you will, to
see; ( 1 ) whether the disciples disobeyed the words of Yeshua or ( 2 )
whether we have misunderstood what Yeshua meant when he said,

" baptizing in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost."

That is, if Yeshua did indeed say it ?

" Be baptized in the name of Yeshua the messiah, every one of you."
                Acts 2:38

" And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the
    Lord." Acts 10:48

" When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the
    Lord Yeshua." Acts 19:5

" But when they believed Philip preaching the things
concerning the kingdom of God, only then were they baptized
in the name of the Lord Yeshua." Acts 8:12-16

" Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Yeshua
    the messiah." Romans 6:3

" Is messiah divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye
baptized in the name of Paul?" 1 Corinthians 1:3

" For as many of you as have been baptized into the messiah have
put on the messiah." Galatians 3:27

            SOME RELEVANT TEXTS

" But of him are ye in the messiah Yeshua, who of God is made unto
us wisdom, and righteousness, and santification, and redempt-
ion: that according as it is written, He that glorieth, let
him glory in the Lord." 1 Corinthians 1:30,31

" And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are
sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Yeshua
and by the Spirit of our God." 1 Corinthians 6:11

" The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save
us ( not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the
answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection
of Yeshua the messiah" 1 Peter 3:21

" Wherefore God hath also highly exalted him, and given him a
name which is above every other name: that at the name of
Yeshua every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things
in earth, and things under the earth." Philippians 2:9,10

" NEITHER IS THERE SALVATION IN ANY OTHER NAME, FOR THERE IS
NONE OTHER NAME GIVEN AMONG MEN, WHEREBY WE MUST BE SAVED."
                ACTS 4:10-12

Footnote: ( from Word Studies on the Holy Spirit, by E W Bullinger )

"Baptizing in the name of the Father, and the Son, and of the holy pneuma"
ie., Holy Spirit Matt.28:19

Further these words are contained in every Greek Ms. known, and are
therefore on documentary evidence, beyond suspicion: but yet there is one
great difficulty with regard to them. The great difficulty is as I've
mentioned that the Apostles themselves never obeyed this command, and in the
rest of the New Testament as shown above there is no hint as to it's ever
being obeyed by anyone. It is difficult to suppose that there would have
been this universal disregard of so clear a command, if it had ever been
given; or it ever really formed part of the primitive text.

As to the Greek MSS, there are none beyond the fourth Century, and it seems
clear that the Syrian part of the Church knew nothing of these words.

Eusebius quotes this verse no less than eighteen times, and always quotes it
in this form, " Go ye into all the world and make disciples of all nations."
He omits all reference to " baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son
and Holy Ghost."

Point by Professor Lake and Mr. Conybeare

Now Eusebius, the great Ecclesiastical historian, died in 340 A.D. and his
work belonged, therefore, in part to the third century. Moreover, he lived
in one of the greatest messianic libraries of the day. If the Greek MS.
there contained these words it seems impossible that he could have quoted
this verse eighteen times without including them. Justin Martyr who died
in 165 A.D., nor Aphraayes of Nisibis, who flourished in Syria, 340 A.D.
knew nothing of these words. It looks, therefore, as though the words got
into the text ( perhaps from the margin) in the Church of North Africa; and
that the Syrian Churches did not have them in the MSS. at their disposal.

The point is interesting and was put forward by late Professor Lake of the
University of Leiden, 1905. and a Mr. Conybeare.

I might add that infant baptism is NOT Biblical, and in fact destroys believers baptism and can lead people to think that they have been baptised into the Christ when in fact no such thing has happened. The apostle Paul makes it clear that the children of the believer are made holy by faith of the parents. This does not negate those children being baptised into the Christ, but infant baptism is great error. Parents might dedicate their child to the Lord but baptism of that child follows belief, there is no back door unto immersion.

'And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy' 1 Corinthians 7:13,14.

For what it's worth; I have always believed that the so called ' Great Commission' was given to the 11 and not to US, and that we are believers only because we have 'believed on their word' for Yeshua prayed 'not only for his apostles' BUT 'for those who would believe ON THEIR WORD' and that INCLUDES 'US'

'Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.' MARK 16:14-20
